"Subdivide and Conquer" is a one-hour movie about suburban sprawl.  According to one movie reviewer, "Suburban sprawl laps at the American landscape like wildfire, consuming over two million acres of land each year.  Subdivide and Conquer shows how sprawl impacts peoples' lives in cities, suburbs and towns, and what some people are doing to change the way we grow."  The movie is narrated by Dennis Weaver, and "suggests remedies, and takes us to places where sound public policy and good land use planning have stemmed the tide of sprawl."

Mark your calendars, tell your friends.

    NEWS RELEASE
August 18, 2000 - CFF Annual Yard Sale Roaring Success

Our second annual Deep Pockets Yard Sale on August 5 and 6 was a roaring  success.  It was a lot of work, but we made a big dent in our  money needs for our projects, made some new friends, met some new supporters, and in general had a great time.

We sometimes forget just how much work goes into organizing  a project like this.  Special thanks to the folks who contributed their time, energy, and "stuff" for the sale.   And special thanks to the people who work so hard day after day to keep CFF a viable organization.  Here are some of the things that our volunteers did to make the yard sale such a success:

Posters, flyers, signs; Prepare mailing to contributors; Tables, chairs, saw horses, plywood; Pick up donations; Pricing, markers; Set up; Calls to contributors; Cashiers - two days; Arrange for storage; Donation Receipts; Balloons,  tarps, bags, boxes; News Release; Clean Up; Newspaper advertisement; Cable TV advertisement; Put on CFF web page; Get permission for sign placement; Transport from storage to sale area; Guard duty Saturday night; Racks, hangers, display racks; Pricing Guru - two days; Clean Up; DONATIONS OF GREAT STUFF TO SELL!; Coordinate the whole thing!

Proceeds to be used for: Legal fees for appealing improper land use actions, CFF research, public information activities, and maintenance of our web page.  All donations of items for yard sale are tax-deductible.  CFF is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
