    Sewage Treatment Plant

CFF participated in the public discussion about the new sewage treatment plant.  When CFF began the dialogue with the City, the old treatment plant was regularly spilling raw sewage into the Siuslaw River.  Although CFF presented many less-costly, and less environmentally hazardous alternatives, the City determined that a "conventional" plant design, on the Siuslaw River, was in the best interest of the City.  While CFF would have preferred a design more in keeping with modern scientific knowledge, at least the city is dumping raw sewage into the river with much less frequency than before.

Some of the information gathered in that process is offered here in the hopes that other communities might be able to use it to help their cities develop in a more environmentally responsible manner.
