    Enclosed is a letter from Citizens For Florence to the Planning Commission (dated March 13, 2001).  This letter sets out a very sound argument as to why the zone change and comprehensive plan amendment recently approved by the Planning Commission is in violation of various state laws and regulations.

    We are sending this to you in an effort to prevent the expenditure of tax payer funds for legal fees which will inevitably be incurred by the city if the Planning Commission’s actions are not rectified  quickly.  We are asking that you forward this letter to the City’s legal counsel for their review and advice on how the City should proceed, in an effort to save all concerned a considerable amount of attorney fees and legal expenses.
