    Comments - Proposed Annexations
  • CFF opposes most recent proposed annexation of 41 acres north of Florence (Cocciolo Annexation).  Florence Planning Commission recommended approval to the City Council - no date set.
  • Once again, the continuation of the Keubler annexation request public hearing has been rescheduled.  The next hearing is scheduled for November 13, 2001.
  • The public hearing on the Morales and Highway 101 annexation requests was held March 13, 2001.  The annexation requests were approved by the Planning Commission.
  • A major comprehensive plan change was also decided March 13, at which time CFF submitted testimony opposing the change.  On March 28, 2001, CFF delivered a Notice of Intent to Appeal to the City Recorder.  On April 23, 2001, CFF filed a Petition on Appeal.  A public hearing was set for September 17, 2001, but the appeal was dismissed, by mutual agreement between CFF and the City.  The City assured CFF the Planning Commission recommendation was not a "decision," that  there would be future opportunity for public hearing on the re-zoning and annexation, and that the City would return CFF's appeal fee.  On June 3, 2002, the City of Florence approved the annexation - with NO public notice or public hearing.  CFF filed a Notice of Intent to Appeal to the Oregon Land Use Board of Appeals on June 20, 2002.
