Information

|
Purpose: Combating Community Deterioration -- The
organization actively monitors proposed development in the community; Conducts
research and provides educational information to various government agencies
involved in the development process, developers, and general public regarding
many aspects of community life: environment, traffic control, water, sewer,
financial analysis of government projects and economical impact, government
spending, social and safety issues, etc. that may influence or detrimentally
impact the quality of life in their small (population 6,700) community.
Past Activity: Organization spent about 95% of its
time researching and preparing information for public dissemination and
testimony for public hearings. About 5% of organization’s time is spent
on administrative activities (approximately monthly meetings) and fund-raising
activities (such organizing annual silent auction of donated art work,
newsletter distribution, stuffing envelopes, etc.) See attached Annual
Report and Newsletter. Also developed a community Web page (see attached
home page, or internet address: http://www.winfinity.com/CFF/CFFWeb.htm).
Present Activity: Organization spends about 90% of
it’s time researching applicable local and state development regulations,
actions, and plans, local comprehensive plans, and public and private development
proposals to provide additional information to state and local governing
bodies and local general public to encourage decisions that will prevent
deterioration of the community. Organization spends about 5% of its time
gathering and distributing information of general interest to community
which will help to maintain existing social and community connections which
will prevent deterioration of community. For example, Community Calendar,
Weather Report and Community Forum information provided on web page. Less
than 5% (estimated 4%) of time and resources is devoted to fund raising
activities. About 1% of organization’s activities are spent on administrative
tasks.
Future Activity: Continue using 90% of organization’s resources
(volunteer and financial) to provide information to government agencies
and general public in Florence community, producing newsletters and maintenance
of Web page. Continue using about 5% of organization resources to provide
general interest information to community which will help maintain existing
social and community connections. Continue spending less than 5% of organization’s
resources on fund raising activities.

Organization activities, as detailed above, began informally
in March 1997, and continue to the present.

|
Provision of information to the general public and various
government agencies will continue to be provided at public meetings and
through mailing and dissemination of newsletters and the web page. All
activities of the organization are conducted by officers, directors or
volunteers. No activities of the organization are conducted by any paid
person or organization, officer, director or volunteer, other than for
provision of such things as printing services, meeting room rental, telephone
service, etc. No officer, director or volunteer is compensated in any manner,
other than occasional reimbursement for actual expenses (for example, postage
or copying) made on behalf of the organization.
